Companies in residence
With the objective of supporting independent productions and fostering artistic exchange, we offer two-month artist residencies for companies or collectives, followed by a public sharing of their works in progress.
We have completed the selection process for the Resident Companies Program 2026 at MOVAQ Aquelarre en Movimiento. We would like to express our gratitude to every group that submitted their material and shared part of their research with us. It fills us with enthusiasm to know that we are collectively envisioning possible worlds in such a hostile context for culture.
It was a complex task, as we received far more projects than our cooperative can accommodate. This highlights a clear and concrete shortage of space available for rehearsals and artistic research, and we hope that the residency and laboratory programs previously run by various local and national public organizations will soon be reactivated.
The selected artists in residence are:
-
ZZA Company with the work "Disconnected Tales" (Relatos inconexos) — (First period: March – May)
-
Pipi Villadangos with the cast of "Failure Talent" (Talento fracaso) — (Second period: May – July)
-
Fabiana Capriotti with the cast of "What Irrupts" (Lo que irrumpe) — (Special track: March to October)

EIXO / Mosteiró, Portugal — March 13–21, 2021
"Inventário 2.0" – On-site and Virtual Artist Residency
A dance project in collaboration with the EIXO residency platform (Mosteiró, Portugal), aimed at building upon the work developed during Daniel Pinheiro’s EIXO Virtual Artist Residency, "Práticas para criação artística através da Internet" (held via Zoom in April–May 2020). The initiative brings these digital methodologies into dialogue with the practice-based research conducted during Malena Albarracín and Natacha Guevara’s EIXO residency, "(Re)conhecer a Escolinha" (held at the former kindergarten of Mosteiró, Portugal, in September 2020).
